Resumo:
The concept of crop production efficiency when applied to the analysis of the plant
yield in an ecosystem is well understood and represents the ratio between the chemical energy stored
in the biomass and the incident solar irradiance on the crop along the time. This concept has been used
in ecophysiology studies, but the farming sector little has used this tool of applied. The possibility of
integration with geographic systems of information, the analyses involving the efficiency of the
agricultural production can be made in geographic scale, allowing comparisons between different
regions under the climatic, soil and even though social point of view. The objective of this paper was
to associate techniques of modeling in GIS to obtain maps of maximum and real yields of sugar cane,
soybean, maize and common beans in the State of São Paulo. The maps had allowed to analyze the
crop production efficiency variation in time and space and to infer on some agrometeorology and
economic factors that could be relate with these variations.
