Resumo:
The research aims to analyze the importance of family farming fairs as an essential strategy for
the flow of agricultural production. The study seeks to understand how these spaces contribute
to strengthening the local economy, valuing small producers and promoting sustainable
development. An integrative methodology was adopted, carrying out a literature review on the
experiences, practices and impacts of family farmers' fairs in different contexts. From the
analysis of the sources researched, it was found that fairs play a fundamental role in direct
marketing between producers and consumers, eliminating intermediaries and ensuring greater
profitability for family farmers. Furthermore, these fairs promote food security by making fresh,
quality products available to the local community. Another relevant point is the contribution to
the preservation of the culture and traditional knowledge of family farming, in addition to
encouraging agroecological practices and strengthening social bonds. It is concluded that
family farming fairs represent a strategic channel for the efficient flow of production, increasing
producers' income and integrating the community into a fairer and more sustainable economic
system. Therefore, the need to encourage public policies that guarantee the continuity and
expansion of these markets stands out, as they play a central role in the consolidation of an
agricultural economy based on social justice and environmental sustainability.
