Entrepreneurship is constantly growing in Brazil, due to lack of opportunity or even
professional independence. Some ventures start without proper planning and end up closing the doors. Therefore, the objective of this work is to apply strategic planning tools, with a view to improving and increasing competitiveness. Firstly, the market research was carried out, with the purpose of collecting information from six optics of the city of Sumé – PB, after the data collection was made the analysis, in this stage was identified the enterprise with the greatest lack of planning and, subsequently, were some strategic planning tools were applied, which were of great value for the performance of the study optics.
