Abstract:
Agricultural residues are rich in bioactive compounds that can be used as an alternative
source for the production of various products and as raw material in different research
settings, including laboratories, universities, and industries. A variety of microorganisms
can be utilized for the production of these products through solid-state fermentation
processes. Therefore, the fermentation process and its impact on the formation of valueadded
products have been reviewed and discussed over the years. This discussion and its
subsequent support necessitate the search, acquisition, reading, and interpretation of a
multitude of articles, referred to as a systematic literature review. Regarding the
monitoring of technological development, such logical organizations are provided
through a set of patent documents. Patent documents published about a certain technology
make up a collection called the State of the Art. From this, the logical organization of a
broad set of patents is referred to as technological monitoring or technological
prospecting. Thus, the aim is to map technologies related to solid-state fermentation
processes using the method of monitoring and analyzing data from patent documents and
scientific articles.
