dc.description.abstract The study aimed to identify and classify the resignifications that were established by people’s appropriation of objects found in Campina Grande’s Historical Centre, in the state of Paraíba. This study is categorized as basic, phenomenological, and exploratory research, and it is organized into five distinct stages. First, the collection of data was completed, followed by the observation of said data, in which provided questions that would guide and deepen the analysis. The data was subsequently classified into four categories (displacement, adaptation, extension and deviation) and commented on. Next, in the analysis structure, the data was organized using different perspectives, such as a macro approach, based on Akrich (1998), and a detail-oriented approach, by Suri (2005). Finally, in the results, the "displacement" category had the highest incidence of appropriations, characterized by the lowest planning level. In the "adaptation" and "extension" categories it was revealed appropriations that actively function in urban environment, while in “deviation”, appropriations of unused objects or those that are at the end of their useful life cycle are observed. The research results contributed to the understanding of the appropriations of objects in urban space, and may have theoretical and practical applications, that is, offering subsidies for the development or improvement of products that serve people who conduct different types of activities in urban spaces. pt_BR
