Resumo:
This paper has as its theme "Alcohol Consumption in the Life of Young Students: Social,
Educational and Health Consequences". The general objective was to present the
consequences of alcohol use in the lives of young students. The specific objectives
were: to understand the social consequences of alcohol use and to reflect what the use
of alcohol causes for the health of the students. The research allowed us to identify the
problems arising from the experience of these young people, and to verify their
participation in the classroom during the study. These young constituents of the sample
for analysis performed do not benefit from specialized technical assistance, destined by
the school. We present an exploratory methodology and a descriptive character, as well
as a bibliographical incursion of a qualitative nature. The data collection instrument was
based on a questionnaire with twenty-one questions related to the research objectives.
The sample is composed of eight students from a state public school in the city of Bonito
de Santa Fe, in the Alto Sertão da Paraíba. The data analysis was based on a reading
based on the critical-dialectical theory, which is based on the theoretical contribution of
authors such as: Medeiros (2007), Inaba (1991), LONGENECKER (2002) and Paulino
(1994). The results show that students often use drinks without realizing the harm they
are causing to their health and causing various problems for the family, so it has been
seen that the social, educational and health damages found are many. These
adolescents are young, most of them started their first contacts with alcoholic beverages
in their infancy. We propose a partnership between the school and health professionals
to find ways to alert young people about the consequences of alcohol use.
