Résumé:
This monographic work was undertaken on the basis of the following objectives guided
research: to analyze the reading teaching methodology classes in the 3rd and 4th year of a
municipal public school in the city of Uiraúna-PB; know the coping strategies of the
difficulties of students in relation to learning to read, and also to list and reflect on the
teaching materials used by teachers to develop the practice of reading. With this knowledge
and understanding the pedagogical practice used in word reading acquisition process while
writing code domain. The research was theoretical support the following authors: Martins
(1994), Chizzotti (1995), Kleiman (1995), Freire (1996), Solé (1998), Freitas (2009), Koch
(2009), among other authors that address theme investigated. The instrument used for data
collection was the semistructured interview. The subjects were two teachers in the early years
of elementary school, being a 3rd year and another from the 4th year of the initial years. The
approach was the qualitative type are semistructured interview, is a kind of great approach to
qualify and deepen knowledge during it. The investigation has concluded that there is a need
to review the methodology used by teachers concerning the teaching work for the
development of reading practices in basic education. This study allowed us to better writing
improvement, especially from the more conscious use of grammar. It also helped us in
understanding the texts read.
