Abstract:
The Information and Communication Technologies are present in our daily lives in many ways and at different moments. They are essential technologies in certain aspects and that can help us in everyday tasks, communication and in various areas of society including education. The school today is heading towards a new educational model, different from those that used traditional methods in teaching, this model, based on the teacher as a mediator of knowledge, seeking the best ways of teaching and learning, because of the quality of education. This work aims to understand how technological information and communication tools (email, groups/mailing list and social networks) can help teachers at the teaching-learning process in public schools in the city of Cachoeira dos Índios, Paraíba, Brazil. From a more general principle, analyzing how technology is embedded in social context, scholar context, to the more specific, focusing on the use of technological communication tools by teachers in their teaching practices. Having José Manuel Moran, Vani Moreira Kenski and Sanmya Feitosa Tajra as the main theorists used as bases of this work. From the methodological point of view, about the nature of this study it is applied, being exploratory as to the intended objectives. About the technical procedures, it is a bibliographic and field research, with a qualitative and quantitative approach, and a questionnaire as instrument to data collection. On the responses of the subjects, it is understood that such tools are relevant to the process of teaching and learning, but there is still fear to use them, either by low preparation of teachers, or for having no incentive from school, or other aspects. It is evident the need of a balance, when this type of technology is inserted in the educational field, not just using them anyway, it is necessary an educational intentionality.
