Resumo:
The economic development of Cariri Paraibano is linked to new technologies with low economic costs and easy application by farmers. The use of agroecological practices makes the production system sustainable without causing damage to the environment. Soil management practices, for example, provide a conditioning for a greater production of the crop, through green fertilization, using legumes to obtain micronutrients and macronutrients taking into account that the soil of the Paraíba cariri is poor in organic nutrients. One of the innovative and promising crops is the cultivation of vines that has been growing in several regions of the State of Paraíba, which includes the Paraíba Western Cariri. Our research work was carried out in the parish of the Center for the Sustainable Development of the Semi-Arid Region in the city of Sumé (PB), with the objective of analyzing the results of the implementation of agroecological practices in the maintenance of the vineyard, in order to comply with Law 11.326 / 2006 for development of family farming. First, soil chemical analyzes and physical-chemical analyzes of irrigation water were carried out to give an idea of what agroecological practices could be applied. In the soil management, the species Clitoria ternatea L. (Cunhã), Cajanus cajan (Guandu) and Crotalaria juncea (Crotalaria) were also used as green cover for the soil. For the extraction of salts present in the water was carried out the implantation of the salt herb (Atriplex nummularia) resulting in a positive way. Secondly, the economic feasibility was analyzed for the implementation of a vineyard that would support family farming. The results confirm the economic feasibility of establishing a sustainable establishment, using agroecological practices, enabling the financial return of the investment to subsistence agriculture.
