Abstract:
This paper aims to analyze the understanding that the students of Youth and Adults Education of a public school in the municipality of Coxixola-PB have about the school evasion that occurs in this modality of education, as well as the social reality in which they are inserted. For this, we developed our reseach work through a qualitative research, using as a data collection instrument the semi-structured interview. For a reflection on the subject matter we used Paulo Freire, Pierre Bourdieu and Althusser as a theoretical reference, among othres. Regarding the results, we highlight that the students of EJA (YAE) conceive education as a path to their social libaration/amancipation, as a means of their social mobility. However, when it comes to issue of evasion, they blame students themselves, claiming lack of interest or other limits relaed to even the family, without taking into account other factors that interfere directly or indirectily in educational process, such as lack public policies appropriate to the context. Although they percieve the EJA (YAE) as a positive element in their formative process ans life projects, they do not make a relation between the precariouness of formation to the macro-social reality of the capitalist model of society. This implies not undertanding that the difficulties related to the precariousness of education are nothing more than the perverse consequences of the modelo f society we have.
