Resumen:
This paper aims to study and analyze how different social actors construct and mobilize
instruments and strategies of domination and resistance in a conflict involving disputes both
the possession, use , access, and quality assurance of natural resources, whether for
accumulation of economic capital are to guarantee basic survival . The conflict we studied
manifest and evident in the Projeto de Assentamento California , located in the municipality
of Acailandia MaranhSo state where throughout its existence the people who lived and live
there have lived with problems , risks and uncertainties of eucalyptus plantations that
surround entire area of the settlement and other activities with the material from these . The
ownership of these plantations over time has been changed , however the owners are and have
always been major national economic groups that settled through the implementation of large
economic projects from the 1960s began to be deployed in the Amazon . However, over time
many contradictions and problems of this process has manifested , as the inclusion of part of
the population that already lived there and was attracted to the region and set backs and
without access conditions and materials organized in social movements revindicarem for
access to resources and livelihoods in particular land degradation and challenge ,
concentration and exponential exploitation of natural resources . Faced with these problems ,
contradictions and conflicts have been recurrent and intense in large measure , among them
what is manifest and evident in that settlement project. How we treat the historical and social
trajectory of distinct social actors and that over a certain time , political conditions ,
ownership , control and access to certain goods that have become fairly sharp distinction ,
especially by power asymmetries . Given this centrally rely on a historical, social and
comparative methodology , analytical approach by having relations of domination and
resistance and theoretically rely on a conceptual articulation from the perspectives of
ecological conflicts Alier , forms of resistance in Scott and domination by consent or
hegemony in Gramsci.
