Ylé Axé Runtó Rumboci: a construção do Candomblé em Cajazeiras – PB.

Abstract

The relations based on the African religions still carries a stigma of mysticism, with diverse prejudices to those that are part of them. This environment brings legends, rituals, beliefs and a historiography surrounded by tough moments to its members. At present, this reality brings new questions that, in many cases, even seek to investigate the personal life of the subjects. Even with the reduction of prejudice, Candombléis still framed by discrimination and with distorted visions, but the opening of a terreiro in a certain space can influence the dynamics of the life and the thinking around them. This work seeks to know the history of Candomblé in Cajazeiras-PB through Ylê Axé Runtó Rumbôci and the visions that surround this religious space. In order to achieve this objective, we used references that were available in printed form, as well as in the world wide web, and also interviews with people who are directly involved with this subject. This research found very rich materials, being able to describe from the entrance of the religion in Brazil, its acceptance process, its current operation, the basis of its beliefs, and the solidification of the specific shed in the city. In this way, this reflection was not only inspired by the history of the books, but also by the concretely constructed history, sheltered in the memory and in the thought of the subjects that are involved in it.
