Currently the Brazilian Public Management experiences a new moment in its administrative political context. A new form of management appears to be breaking with the old molds of clientelistic administration and individual interests, being coerced to revise its way of acting and developing public policies, as well as the directing of public resources, attending to the aspirations of society as one all. In this context, there is a need for a new method of managing the public machine, meeting the requirements of the new Brazilian scenario. In this modern political context of Participatory Management, mechanisms of popular participation emerge as an innovative initiative called Participative Budget, which with its application allows the participation of society in the definition of priorities, sharing the decision-making power and planning previously restricted to the representatives elected by them . Within this perspective, the present work sought to analyze the influences of the State Democratic Budget for Participatory Management in the administration of public resources in the State of Paraíba. To do so, using interviews with OD participants. The study also made use of a bibliographical and documentary review on the subject, as well as an exploratory and descriptive research with a qualitative approach, using a field study as a method of study and, for the analysis and interpretation of the data, was employed to the analysis of the narratives. The results based on the categories of analysis showed that the Democratic Budget in Paraíba is an innovative experience at the state level, as a promoter element for participatory management. The same enabled the participation of the population in the definition of the priorities of each region and in turn in each city, sharing the power of decision and planning. Besides, a mechanism of improvement in the elaboration of the public policies and in the effective distribution of the resources according to the real needs of the population is configured.
