Resumo:
This dissertation aims this study aims to understand the trajectories and the social and
cultural development of African students in Brazilian public universities and migration
flows from Africa to Brazil from February 2002 to February 2012 , and will take as the
universe empirical research African students enrolled at the Federal University of
Campina Grande, Paraiba Federal University and the Federal University of
Pernambuco. Analyzed the historical relationship between Brazil and Africa, migration
and globalization so that the intensification of the globalization process, with stronger
ties economic, political and cultural (as well as rising tensions and conflicts) causes
major changes in trends in international migration. Thus, if migration between regions
in different territories is not a new phenomenon, has assumed new forms of
globalization. In recent decades, it is only possible to see an increase of migration flows
between countries, such as changes in motivations and directions of these migratbns. In
this scenario, becomes relevant temporary migration related to academic training. The
Program for Undergraduate Students-Agreement - PEC-G is an instrument of
Educational Cooperation that the Brazilian government offers to developing countries,
especially in Africa and Latin America.
