Resumo:
In this Dissertation we have as research object the institutional religious discourses on the
homosexuality, and as well the experiences of homosexual individuals in the God Assembly,
Universal Church of God's Kingdom and into charismatic catholic groups in Campina
Grande. Our theoretical perspective had in Goffman its main inspiration and was also based
in the anthropological and sociological debate on the subject. As data collection instruments
we used questionnaires, which were answered by Campina Grande's Homosexual
Association members, and we also carried out semi-structured interviews with an intentional
sample of those members and with religious leaders of those institutions cited above.
Among the main outputs of our research we point out the following: (l)the conceptions
both catholic and evangelical we observed in interviews and questionnaires express the
persistence of a rejection of homosexual behavior, which are defined as sin through diverse
discursive strategies and day by day practices (2) the different forms of rejection and
disqualification of sexual diversity we found in those discursive strategies and practices
produce and reproduce stigmatization forms, an also influence processes of homosexual
subjectivities and identities.
