Abstract:
The Brazilian poultry industry has been evolving every year, playing a very significant
national and international role. However, with this growth there were also serious problems related to pest insects, as is the case of Alphitobiusdiaperinus, the popular birdwatcher. The bioinseticidal effects of kaolin and mastruz powder
ysphaniaambrosioides L.) were evaluated in this study. The efficiency of kaolin powder was studied in different concentrations of (0,0,0,25 0,5, 0,75, 1,0 g / cm-2) in the evaluation periods (7, 14, 21 and 28 days). The powder efficiency was calculated. It was evaluated the potential of the powder to repel Alphitobiusdiaperinus, by the Repellency Index (IR), using sands (6 x 6 cm) of wood, containing 05 repetitions. This same index of repellency was used in the association of kaolin powder and mastruz, the lowest dose of kaolin that was more efficient and economical. Also, efficiency was evaluated under the same conditions previously tested. According to the results, it can be concluded that the kaolin powder of 0.50 g / cm2 was the most efficient concentration showing an efficiency of 59.86% at 7 days and 100.00% at 21 days of the evaluated periods. It was verified that the Repellency Index obtained in the treatments with the use of kaolin of 0.25 to 0.75 g / cm-2 were all smaller than 1, indicating repellency of these concentrations. It was also verified that IR in the treatments of the lowest dose of kaolin associated with the oncentrations of mastruz were all lower than 1, indicating repellency on the insects of Alphitobiusdiaperinus. As for the efficiency of the association, the concentration
of 0.50 g / cm -2 of the kaolin powder associated with 1.00 g / cm -2 was found to be the most efficient in the control of Alphitobiusdiaperinus.
