The actions of rural extension seek to develop the communication process of new technologies generated by agricultural research, in addition to the diverse knowledge, looking for alternative economic development, considering the empirical subject of family farmers, valuing their customs and cultural traditions of their communities, combining their sustainable development to production. The work to analyze the perception of those families from two rural communities in Serra Branca town, with respect to the Technical Assistance and Rural Extension - ATER and its actions of other bodies and institutions. To obtain the data were interviewed 42 producers through predefined questionnaire. The results report that farmers recognize the importance of extension action, and still believe in action of the technical and in its commitment, but realize the lack of greater participation in these guidelines on topics required the construction for sustainability of agro-ecosystems.
