Resumo:
This study aimed to understand how the teaching practice is being organized in the construction of children's learning, in addition to the knowledge of teachers in Childhood Education and the teacher's understanding of education from the earliest stages of life. The interest in studying the theme arose from the intention to better understand the relationship between knowledge and pedagogical practices in Early Childhood Education, in order to reflect on the role of theory in teacher practice. The research site was the Creche Pré-Escola (Primary School), located in the city of Cajazeiras-PB. The study was developed from a bibliographical research, in which the theoretical concepts, the legislation and the ideas related to the subject matter were reviewed, as well as a field research in a qualitative approach, seeking to respond to the proposed objectives. As a data collection instrument, a questionnaire composed of open questions was used, applied to five female teachers, subjects of the study, who belonged to the Education Board Office of this municipality, who proposed to collaborate with the research. In relation to the results obtained, it was verified that the education of children deserves a different look, since the child of today must have all its dimensions respected, which requires from the teacher a conscious attitude in the action, considering the fundamentals that guide their actions and the conception of a child as a citizen of rights, which requires effective policies of care, but also qualified teachers committed to learning at this stage of Basic Education.
