Abstract:
Early pregnancy is a public health problem with high rates in Brazil. Fact that requires the implementation of public policies to solve the problem. Thus, this work is carried out, considering that teenage pregnancy can lead losses to the development of adolescents, especially in relation to emotional, social, educational and economic factors. So, this study aims to evaluate the existence and impact of the Public Policies of early pregnancy care in the city of Serra Branca-PB. For this, it is a descriptive research, with qualitative approach and use of semi-structured interview technique, in which the Secretary of Health, and Social Assistance and the direction of the State School of Elementary and Secondary Education Senador José Gaudêncio were interviewed. The research data showed that at the municipal scope there is no specific program of care in the areas of Health, Education and Social Care aimed exclusively to pregnant adolescents or mothers. In this way, we can consider that actions undertaken by the State in facing this reality are insufficient to demand the problem, especially due to the fact that these actions are still carried out in fragmented ways.
