Resumen:
Nowadays the media has given importance when talking about the mosquito Aedes aegypti and Public Health of Brazil. As the years passed, a certain vision was acquired regarding the concern for the health of the people, so the schools as social institutions responsible for the development of the students consist in being an important link against epidemics focusing on the health of its students and of the society. In the municipality of Sumé, the Health Department together with the José Gonçalves de Queiroz School reflect in the school context a certain concern about the Health of the students debating the Aedes aegypti epidemic, so the theme gained strength in the school contents programming, motivated by the epidemic of dengue, chikungunya and zika in the cities of Cariri, which affected teachers, students and family members who contracted one of these viruses. In this way, this research has as general objective to verify the knowledge of the students of the State School José Gonçalves de Queiroz de Sumé - PB, on the diseases transmitted by the mosquito Aedes aegypti, and to identify their understandings on Public Health. This research is characterized by a descriptive research with quantitative-qualitative character, the data collection was done through questionnaires, the data were represented by tables and graphs. It was identified in the research that the students do not understand much about the research topic and the Public Health of our country, therefore the disinformation of these students leads to the lack of dialogues with the society and the little interaction in fighting this pest, so the little knowledge demonstrates the school's low concern about the consequences and causes of transmitted diseases, but also demonstrates that the topic should be mentioned more, since it is of great importance for the whole body of the institution, future mosquito fighters in society, making them a major force in this mission against the mosquito.
