Resumo:
The culture of watermelon (Citrullus lanatus (Thunb)) together with the
melon is one of the cultures more responsive to technological advances, and
results, for the most part, analyzed the production and fruit quality. Among the
factors involved in producing this cucurbit irrigation emerging as the most
important, however, it must be handled well, since there stages of culture that
require greater or lesser amount of available water, to obtain a maximum yield
and high quality. From this perspective, the proposed objectives are grounded in
this research project, in which considers remarkable relevance studies that may
generate through agricultural experimentation, field-level, technical information
in order to analyze the phenological behavior of watermelon crop under
different levels of water in the soil and its implication in the production, which
will serve as subsidies for efficient control and management of irrigation, thus
providing, satisfactory conditions for economic viability watermelon farm in the
Irrigated Perimeter Jaíbaras. The experimental design is a randomized block,
with seven treatments and four repetitions, totaling 28 plots on an area of 2000
m2. At the end of the study we showed that the water stress caused problems in
the development of watermelon crop, reducing the rate of leaf area,
photosynthesis, thus increasing the number of abortion flowers. Thus, leading to
a lower yield on fruit quality.
