Resumo:
The family grant program was created with the purpose of mitigating the effects of social inequality and poverty. This benefit, in addition to alleviating the immediate needs of families, still seeks to stimulate the sustained emancipation of those living in situations of poverty and indigence, contributing significantly to improving the quality of life of the poor. This is an exploratory study with a quantitative approach, whose general objective was to promote an analysis of the family grant program in the city of Sumé, State of Paraíba. For that, he interviewed 100 people, using a questionnaire with subjective questions. The analysis of the data gathered showed that 78% of the interviewees know people who live in poverty and who need the family grant program, but who do not receive this benefit, while others who do not need it, enjoy this benefit improperly. And, this reality shows that in the municipality of Sumé, there is a need for a complete revision of the beneficiaries of the family grant program, aiming to exclude those who do not live up to the aforementioned benefit, and at the same time correcting some failures regarding the concession, including in the Those people who, for some reason, have not yet benefited from the program and are experiencing financial difficulties.
