Resumo:
The objective of this dissertation is to rethink the economic transformations that occurred in the Curimataú Paraibano, with the implantation and development of the sisaleira culture, through the process of segmentation of the workers. This differentiation of workers is expressed by the different positions they occupy in the productive process, in the access to land, in internal complaints and confrontations, and also involves a cultural aspect in the separation of "old workers" and "new workers".
But parallel to this internal differentiation, there has been a growing approximation of the different segments of workers in the leveling of living conditions, in the similarity of the occupational trajectories, in the negation and in the criticism of the current conditions of life and work and in opposition to opposing social agents. All this change has taken place in a context of crises of domination, where the owners are divided into the forms
the organization of the productive process, the increase of cattle raising, the reduction of the number of inhabitants and the proposals for modernization in sisal planting and defibration. The union leaders try to rescue the approach of interests among the workers to transform in their different categories into a political force.
