Resumo:
This monograph presents the result of a research-action, as its main purpose is to investigate a
specific problem in a situation also specified in order to achieve a relevant practice of the
results. It was also intended to develop a study on the use of printed newspaper as a
pedagogical tool of Support to the teaching and learning processes of the student. It had as
general objective: to reflect about the possibilities of using the newspaper as a pedagogical
tool in the classroom in a perspective of working the interdisciplinarity. And specific
objectives: to identify the possibilities of experiencing pedagogical practices in an
interdisciplinary perspective, seeking to work the cross-cutting themes from the use of the
newspaper (virg point), demonstrate possible ways of working the contents of the classroom,
having the newspaper as a didactic resource , -explore the textual genres present in the
newspaper as a means of promoting school learning, and also develop the critical spirit of
learners from the reflection of the facts that are currently occurring. As for the methodological
path, the first stage of this work was carried out by means of a bibliographical survey, where
several authors were investigated, who believe and defend this possibility of the use of the
newspaper as a pedagogical tool. The second stage was through a research-action in which it
developed Activities using printed newspaper as a pedagogical resource. The subjects of this
research were students of the 6th grade of Elementary School II of the Moises State School,
located at Rua Jose Tomas, 387 in the city of Cajazeiras-PB. The approach was qualitative.
Regarding the results, the theoretical study showed how much the newspaper has to contribute
with the processes of teaching and learning, favoring both the teacher and the student in their
construction of knowledge. And especially, how much this resource has the power to awaken
the critical sense that until then not explored in the school, by the teachers. The newspaper
presents an efficient way of thinking about events, the language is simple and easy to
understand, it brings texts with different characteristics, Transforming subject in the social
practice of the environment photography, graphic resources, etc. Newspapers are relevant
sources for research and for obtaining information about the world, thus contributing to
consolidate the guidelines of the National Curriculum Parameters according to which the goal
for education is to provide the student with the ability to understand and produce texts,
becoming in which it is inserted.
