Resumen:
The present work has as main objective to analyze the pedagogical praxis of students of the
Pedagogy course in the midst of gender issues in education. From this were assigned four
specific objectives, namely; to discuss the role of the university in the formation of the plural
teacher; to reflect on the study of gender issues in the university and its implications on
teacher formation; to verify the perspectives of teachers in formation in the process of
teaching and learning about gender issues and to understand the main challenges and
possibilities of working with gender issues in education. Given this, we intend to answer the
research problem, outlined in: how does the process of theoretical and practical preparation in
the formation of students of the Pedagogy course to deal with gender issues in the educational
field occur? The choice for the study and research about the thematic came from the curiosity
and willingness to improve the knowledge about the thematic, considering the influence of the
study for formation and teaching performance. In the methodology we used the qualitative
research through a semi structured interview containing six theme questions. The data were
analyzed using the thematic analysis. Participated of the research six students from the
Pedagogy course, from the Federal University of Campina Grande, Cajazeiras/PB Campus,
aged between 22 and 30 years. According to results, we realize that is still necessary an
analysis about the priorities and demands that exist in society, since, through the perspectives
of the participants, the formation presents declines and gaps that difficult the process of
integrated teacher formation. In addition, we could see that the research also contributed to the
process of critical analysis of the subjects involved, since when they reflected to answer the
questions, they were faced with a reality previously unanalyzed, mainly by the low
requirement of the course and disciplines to work on gender issues in the various areas in
which the pedagogue can be inserted.
