Resumo:
The present work results from research on the use of games for teaching-learning of mathematical contents in mathematics classes, in the initial grades of Elementary School, offered by teachers to Elementary School students in the rural area of the Municipality of Serra Branca, in Cariri Paraíba. This research had the objective of analyzing the effects of games applied in the classroom in Elementary School - Initial Years, in the contents of Mathematics. Thus, initially, a reflection was made on the didactic situations in which the teachers use the games. For that, the methodology followed, which had the accomplishment of interviews with professors Fundamental Teaching - Initial Years. The teachers' profile of this research was considered good, but the municipality needs to give a greater incentive of resources to the institutions that work at this level of education.
