Abstract:
Environmental issues are increasingly present in everyday life, however, environmental
education is essentialat all levels of educational processes and especially in the earlyyears
of schooling, since it is easier to raisechildren's awareness of environmentalissuesthan the
adults. Thus, incorporating the environmentalissueintopeople'sdailylives can foster a new
perception of the relationships between humanbeings, society and nature and promote a
reassessment of values and attitudes in collective and individual coexistence, as well as
reinforce the need to be and acting as a citizen in the search for solutions to local and
nationalenvironmentalproblems that affect the quality of life. In this context, the school is a
propitiousplace for the development of projects with educationalfocus and related to the
environment in which we live. In this perspective, the present research "Environmental
Education through the reports of the teachers of Sciences of the Municipality of Sumé -
PB", aims to identify how the environmental education is beingworked in the teaching of
science in the municipal network of education of the municipality of Sumé. , through the
reports of scienceteachers. The research is of the exploratory - descriptivetype with
qualitative approach, through a fieldresearchtechnique, specificallysurvey, with the use of
instruments in the form of a questionnaire. With the research we obtained the opinion of
the teachers of the Public School of Education of the municipality of Sumé on the
importance of working Environmental Education in schools. The responses were very
revealing as they contribute to the formation of citizenswho are more aware and committed
to environmentalissues, with actions aimed atsustainability and respect for the
environment, as well as improving the quality of education, training citizens more
committed to environmentalissues.
