Resumo:
This work is the result of research conducted with students Undergraduate Degree in Field Education and Specialization in Mathematics and Sciences to coexist with the Semiarid of the Federal University of Campina Grande, Center for Sustainable Development of the Semiarid Region. The study had as objectives; to spread among students social technologies who use abundant natural resources in the northeastern region of Brazil and verify the students' knowledge about this technique Analyzing as a possibility from the social technology to promote teaching-learning in a meaningful and contextualized way, taking into account the abundant natural resources of the region as a strategy for development in the semi-arid region of Paraíba. For that, it was used the application of questionnaires, field class observations, bibliographic searches, as well as the analysis of scientific articles, information obtained in institutional sites, besides punctuating some content that can be related to the theme. In this way, it was concluded that social technology deals with a methodology that can be used from higher education to regulate, promoting social transformation, as well as valuing popular knowledge and integrating scientific knowledge.
