Resumen:
Public management is an area dedicated to the management and control of resources and public goods, contributing to the planning and achievement of goals and actions that promote public interest and social welfare. In this context, this work aims to analyze the practices and relationships of public managers in relation to public-private issues and their impacts on the development of public management, especially in the municipality of Caraúbas - PB. As well as, describe the advantages of efficient, transparent and responsive management. This research is justified by the unstable social, political, administrative and economic panorama in which the public organizations in the country are found. In order to carry out this work, a bibliographic and exploratory research was carried out, based on a qualitative and quantitative descriptive analysis, which involved the application of semi-structured questionnaires, through interviews with five (5) groups: Municipal civil servants, State civil servants, high school students, students in higher education and civil society. In the analysis, an attempt was made to survey the possible damages caused by the different practices of public managers, as well as to demonstrate the relevance of public management based on efficiency, transparency and responsiveness. Thus, it was considered that the local public management, brings with it actions that feed back behaviors that hinder the full functioning of the public machine and that hamper its efficiency and effectiveness in the implementation of public policies.
