Resumo:
The present work, in its support, presents theoretical - methodological questions of how the fair
has been developing and resisting over the years, in the face of new forms of
imposed by capitalism. Thus, the work is based on a case study
of the city of Barro, Ceará, which in the last 15 years

competitiveness. Having as a general objective, to investigate the retraction factors and the
strategies of resistance of the free fair of the city of the Barro-CE. We will tackle at work

importance for local economy and its role in urban development, starting with the
