Abstract:
In this work we use mathematical games as a facilitator for the teaching of mathematics,
applying as teaching resources, manipulative materials for better subsidy in the classes of
the mentioned discipline. We chose as a reference the four basic operations, with a
differentiated look at multiplication and division, given its importance for a good
performance in the discipline and we performed the experience in a classroom of the
Escola Estadual João Lelys, Livramento-PB, in a class of students of the 6th Grade of
Elementary School, specifically. The work starts by reflecting on the importance of the use
of mathematical games and the development of mental calculation and logical reasoning
until we come to the account of our experience with the final considerations about the
method. In doing so, we aim to show that the use of games in mathematics teaching can be
effective, if used properly. The methodology is created from the expositive class with
group formation. The games were previously made, for handling and solving proposed
problems and recording the observations. At the end of our work we come to the
conclusion that learners, when handling a particular material to learn specific content, feel
more stimulated and learn more effectively.
