Resumen:
The present work analyzes the teaching of history and its relationship with literature inState High School Prefect Joaquim Lacerda Leite, to understand the contributions that this relationship presents for the construction of historical knowledge. To understand this relationship, a study of the trends history and literature were submitted from the Pedro II College to the present day. The Political Pedagogical Proposal of the State High School Mayor Joaquim Lacerda Leite to understand the teaching proposal that school offered to students. Being that, this school seeks to develop a promote the integral development of the student. I also analyzed interviews as two teachers of this school to know more deeply how teaching of history was developing in classrooms, a small study of the textbook in order to know if it had any direction for the use of literature in history classes. The investigation found that the school the school analyzed develops a study focused on the historical relationship and literature, however, it is still necessary to rethink the way this instrument is being used by teachers.
