Résumé:
The objective of this study is to evaluate the State's performance in meeting the social demand for housing. Due to the spatial and demographic amplitude of the housing problem, we will limit our analysis to the consequences of the State's housing policy in a regional and social sub-space: the city of Campina Grande and its low-income population. This general objective is particularized and illustrated in the study of a specific case of state intervention in the housing problem: Promorar - Program of Eradication of sub-dwellings - of the Catolé Quarry Favela (Campina Grande-Pb. of the Government's Housing Policy, while its ability to play a decisive role in the struggle for the acquisition of public funding for housing and urban development programs at the Promorar. The example of Campina Grande undoubtedly serves to demonstrate that the general considerations on Politics In order to reach these objectives, the work was organized as follows: The Introduction, which presents some theoretical points of reference for the understanding of capitalist society in general, and for understanding the housing issue, in particular. Chapter I, which analyzes the housing policy in the political, economic and social conjunctures of the Brazilian reality. 0 Chapter II, which deals with the Case Study - Promoting and the housing problem in Campina Grande-Pb. Chapter III, which presents the methodology and results of the research, and the conclusions that summarize the main lines of understanding reached in the study.
