Abstract:
The Leucaena leucocephala and have been introduced in differents biomes of Brazil. L. leucocephala is very used as forege species in animals foods. This species is easily adaptatived in dry regions. It has spread in diverse areas of semi-arid of Brazil. Thus, we realized an experiment of in vitro germination where were tested methods differents of dormancy breaking with seeds and types of sugarcane molasses as alternative substrate. The seeds were collected in July of 2017. We analised two types of dormancy breaking to seeds of L. leucocephala. The first breaking was in mechanical scarification imersed with water; and second breaking was in mechanical scarification without imersed with water. To germinative propagation was used three levels sugarcane molasses concentration with agar (1%, 5%, and 10%), more one control solution. Were evaluated four parameters of germination: First Germination Count (FGC), Germination (G%), Speed Germination Index (SGI), and Germination Mean Time (GMT). Analysis of Variance Factorial (α = 0,05) was realized to verified if significatives differences between the types dormancy breaking (with and without water) and sugarcane molasses. Regression analysis was conducted to verify if correlationship between sugar content (Brix), and FGC, and GMT. The results showed that in major concentrations of sugarcane molasses (5%, and 10%) to dormancy breaking of imersion water had difficulted in germinate. However, the seeds with imersion water were more tolerants in high sugarcane molasses concentrations. The results presented indicated that species studied is more resistent in dry áreas and low nutrients concentrations.
