Résumé:
The objective of this paper is to assess the behavior of a plume of contaminants, specifically copper (Cu), that originates from a sewage treatment lagoon by the application of Computational Fluid Dynamics. Mass conservation, linear momentum and transfer of matter equations were simultaneously solved by adoption of monophasic and multi-component outflow, using the software ANSYS CFX® 15, considering a two-dimensional porous medium and with constant and uniformly distributed properties. Numerical results indicate that the behavior of the plume of contaminant is influenced by the speed of the water horizontally outflowing in a porous medium, the speed of the leakage of contaminant on the bottom of the lagoon and the permeability of the porous medium.
