Albizia lebeck (L.) Benth. It is popularly known in Brazil for Heart of Black. This species is not used in the treatment of diseases. This work aims to identify a presence of non-exudate secondary metabolites of A. lebbeck and to evaluate its antimicrobial and antioxidant activities. The extract was obtained from a process of extraction by organic solvents. From the purification via Reverse Phase High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC-FR), four sets of substances were selected according to the elution time. The study of antibacterial activity was performed against Gram-positive (Staphylococcus aureus) and Gram-negative (Escherichia coli) bacterial strains, with the antibiotic Cloranfenicol being the positive control. The antioxidant activity of the tested was performed by the DPPH (1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl) method, using as standard curve the antioxidant ascorbic acid, which was read in an optical spectrophotometer. The food set, denominated Area 2, contains about 20 different compounds, which presented antioxidant activity equivalent to 0.25 mM of ascorbic acid. All the purified areas present an antibacterial activity, with halo formation of inhibition of growth with around 1mm of diameter, emphasizing an Area 2, with formation of halo for Gram positive and Gram negative. As phytochemical analyzes have shown that Area 2 contains steroids and alkaloids but does not contain saponins
