Resumen:
In the last two decades in the present century, it is observed that in Brazil, social management presents increasing attention to a group of organizations of an associative and cooperative nature, generally understood in what is usually characterized and denominated as organizations of the Third Sector. The Third Sector is composed of associations and foundations that work to generate public goods and services to society, the organizations that are part of this sector are created through voluntary participation, with the intention of contributing with the implementation of actions that can contribute positively in the Quality of life of the population. Within this context, this study has as general objective to analyze the organizational behavior of the members of the Community Association of United Venceremos Neighborhoods, in the city of Sumé - PB. As an inquiry is sought to discover to what extent the associate members understand their duties according to the function they perform in the association? As justification, the present research aims to contribute to the studies around the organizations of the Third Sector, since it is considered as being a current topic, of great relevance for the academic context, since it allows to extract numerous reflections about the constitution of this sector , Which has made possible changes in society, given that non-profit institutions exist with the purpose of meeting these changes in the lives of individuals and living in society. Methodologically, the article is configured as being of a bibliographic nature, with a descriptive and qualitative research paradigm. It can also be classified as a case study. As a data collection instrument, a questionnaire was applied with the members of the analyzed association. As a result, it may be pointed out that weaknesses have been demonstrated in relation to the lack of efficiency and effectiveness in the association's actions and, consequently, in weakening its capacity for communication and dialogue with the State and with civil society itself Assisted, and that they should be more engaged in participating.
