Resumo:
This research had objective to analyze the activity of the crafts as an alternative of income among the women of an association is the city of Mounts under the perspective of the Solidary Economy. In order to reach this objective, the methodology used was qualitative and descriptive, through a case study, having as instruments of collection, the observation, semi-structured interview and documentary research. Studies by the National Secretary for Solidarity Economy show that the solidarity economy can bring benefits in terms of the recovery of self-esteem, autonomy in production and generation of work and income, and promotion of integration. The enterprise studied does not fully implement the principles of solidarity economy, facing challenges in self-management due to the lack of partnerships, the commercialization of handicrafts due to the absence of a fixed point of sale, and lack of cooperation and equality among members, despite of the challenges faced by this enterprise brings benefits to the lives of women artisans.
