Nowadays, in order for a company or institution to comply with environmental laws and have a greater visibility for society, investments are required in the practice of sustainable actions, as natural resources are increasingly insufficient as a result of the exploitation of raw materials In this way, the analysis of the benefits of reverse logistics for sustainability in a federal university, where an effective study for survival and the future of Be it human or animal. This paper aims to propose, from the reverse logistics, processes that make the Federal University of Campina Grande, Sumé-PB campus, an environment that adopts sustainable practices, such as selective collection, profit-making for better campus economy through Sale of waste, and environmental education for the whole community. Therefore, projects that encompass this area have great value. For this, an interview was given by employees for the collection of data in addition to on-site visits and direct observation. Thus, with the results, it was verified that through reverse logistics it is possible to adopt sustainable practices in the academic environment that is often neglected. In this way, it can be concluded that through the sustainability dimensions, reverse logistics can be an alternative for universities or other educational institutions that wish to promote this development policy.
