Resumo:
The Web 2.0 has leaded to huge modifications in the way people relate and share information with each other. In this new scenario, users participate actively in the process of generating content for the web, being responsible to create, edit, evaluate, categorize and publish information. Travel photos, restaurants reviews, tourist videos and many other subjects and resources are published by users using, for example, blogs, social networks and social content sites, which are applications that facilitate their interaction with this new web. Moreover, the emergence of map mashups boosted the use of location in the shared information, enabling new ways of viewing resources. Thus, applications developed with Web 2.0 technologies enable the information democratization and bring new challenges for organizing and retrieving shared information by these volunteers. Some of these challenges are: make the content generated by users understandable not only by humans, but also by machines; and exploit better the geographic information produced by them. Thus, this work aims to present the DYSCS - Do it Yourself Social Content Sites – Platform that was developed by combining the Web 2.0 and Semantic Web technologies to assists users in creating social content sites, which use semantic and spatial elements in the organization and retrieval of shared information.
