This work was developed seeking to characterize the vertical propagation of the gravity waves between 80 km and 100 km of altitude. For this end, data of aeroluminescência images were used through an imageador CCD all-sky and data of winds through a meteoric radar, both are installed in OLAP - Observatory of Atmospheric Luminescence of Paraíba - in the city of São João of Cariri - PB (7.38° S, 36.54° W). The used data were obtained simultaneously during the months of August from 2004 to July of 2006, in a total of 214 nights. In that period, 1036 events of waves were detected with simultaneous wind data. The events that presented positive vertical propagation during the whole profile, they were characterized as wave vertically propagante; for the event with negative vertical propagation in the whole profile were characterized as wave vertically evanescent and for the ones that they presented positive vertical propagation in a certain limited area for two areas of negative vertical propagation, indicating the existence of a channel Doppler, they were denominated of duct waves. The data were worked in three different stages leaving of a methodology used by Isler et al. (1997) we ended that the use of any adopted stage turns the satisfactory study and it agrees with previous studies accomplished by Medeiros (2001), Shiokawa et al, (2000); Swenson et al, (2000); Isler et al. (1997).
