Abstract:
Gender inequality is a phenomenon still present in contemporary society, despite the historical struggles of the feminist movements that have been developing since the beginning of the nineteenth century. Although some important achievements have been achieved and hegemonic paradigms have been questioned, inequality between men and women must be taken as an object of discussion and be addressed in the various spaces of society. In this sense, this paper aims to analyze how gender inequality is conceived by the students and students of the 8th period of the Degree in Social Sciences of the CDSA / UFCG, in order to capture some signs that may highlight the contribution of this course in the issues related to the theme dealt with in this monograph. For this, the exploratory research of a qualitative nature was chosen, using a semi-open interview technique, involving three (03) people, one male and two female, who experienced some experiences related to the subject analyzed. The results of this research showed that the gender theme is a content of interest to the people interviewed and that they are critically positioned in relation to gender issues. As for the training that is developed in the course of Social Sciences, we have seen that it gives students and learners some important experiences related to the gender issue, especially in the projects and in the study and research groups. In this sense, it is important to say that all the people interviewed participated in these formative spaces and, in addition, have put into practice in the classroom the learning built during these formative experiences. As a disciplinary field of the course, we have seen as limiting the fact that the course, offers the discipline of gender only as an option, which means that not all students will attend it.
