Abstract:
This monograph was the result of an ethnographic research carried out at the Psychosocial Care Center - CAPS I – Novos Rumos Sumé Station. The study aims to understand the social relations and/or social labelling practices of the users of the Psychosocial Care Center - CAPS (Sumé/PB) among themselves and with the local community. Based on the perspective of symbolic interactionism of the Chicago school, with the interactionist deviance theories according to Howard Becker (2008) and Label according to Erving Goffman (1993), it becomes pertinent to the comprehension and understanding of the actions and relations built in the society, where the "normal people" and the "deviant people" are made up of the same social group. This study aims to address the sociability relations between users and how these affection ties make CAPS as a second family, as well as to understand the presence of stigmatizing assignments through the users' speech. The research is characterized as ethnographic, becoming this field as fundamental for the development of the researcher‟s trajectory.
