This work analyzes the political and pedagogical issues that permeate the relations of the faculty of Senador José Gaudêncio school, with the managers, to understand how these relations interfere in the effective implementation of democratic management, fundamental for the proper development of students of contemporary society . It also intends to reflect on the democratic management in the school of the public network and the role of the manager in order to guarantee the participation of the school community in the pedagogical, financial and administrative decisions, bringing the various instruments that favor this participation. This is an exploratory bibliographic study, with a qualitative approach by means of a Case Study in a school of the state public network of the municipality of Serra Branca, Paraíba. The results emphasize the importance of democratic management for the quality of teaching and show that, although important advances have already taken place, there is still a need to deepen understanding around the theme, broaden the scope for discussion and join efforts in the fight for effective democratic management, a fundamental condition for improving quality in education.
