Resumen:
This work entitled “Thinking with Sociology in High School: teaching practices in the teaching of Sociology”, had as general objective to understand how the teaching practices developed by the teachers of Sociology in High School occur. In this way, an exploratory research with a qualitative approach was carried out in the School of Monteiro-PB, using as an instrument of data collection the semistructured interview with ten (10) open questions (subjective) that were applied to two (2) teachers who teach the discipline of Sociology. The data were then analyzed and interpreted. The results analyzed showed that although Sociology is compulsory in the basic education curriculum, it faces several problems in order to fulfill its role as a discipline. Challenges to teaching practices related to sociology are presented, ranging from initial and continuing education to the pedagogical strategies used by the teachers.
