Resumen:
This work has the objective of to watch how is processed the literature's teaching since the XIX century until nowdays, like that to propose methodologycal strategies what becomes the Literature's classes very well dynamic. Taked as researh's universe two high schools in Cajazeiras's city - PB, one public and one private, finding to analise the teaching literature's practices through of answers obtain in questions bounds to teachers and students of them. The humanist reason, the literature's functions, the reading are important points what too was accosted in this work, referencing Candido (2004), Cosson (2006), Cereja (2005), Aguiar (1679) and Bordini (1988), like that the didactization of news estrategics what will become the literature's classes more attractive and pleasants. It was concluded that the practice of teaching literature does not differ in the two schools surveyed, as both favour the historicism and literary styles of time instead of working with the main subject of study of literature that are the literary texts.
