Resumo:
This is a bibliographical research that aimed to show how beekeeping can contribute to the promotion of sustainable rural development. In this context of transition, various alternatives have been proposed for the promotion of sustainable rural development, among these there is the Beekeeping is an activity that combines old methods, such as the fumigation with modern methods, such as artificial insemination and that produces benefits in the economic, social and environmental contexts. Thus, by providing numerous contributions to maintaining biodiversity, it is a sustainable activity that can also contribute to the promotion of sustainable rural development. Beekeeping has a low cost and high profitability, can be developed in consortium way with other activities, includes the pillars of sustainability, constitutes an excellent alternative to the promotion of sustainable rural development is an activity that is real possibility of business and inclusion social, is relevant because it contributes greatly to spread environmental awareness is an essential activity for maintaining biodiversity in the face of pollinator capacity presented by bees.
