Resumo:
The object of this research is monographic study as the process of learning and acquisition of reading and writing of students in the Youth and Adult Education (EJA - 2nd segment), but also show the impact of studies on literacy for literacy practices. The research being presented seeks to relate theories and / or ideologies on the existing problems found in the classrooms of EJA. Through notes were two classes of EJA group of teachers and the School Costa e Silva during the months from May to November 2007 in the town of Cajazeiras - PB. The results indicate a methodological 7
advance when it comes to social relations in the learning environment, but reveal inconsistencies in the teaching work, teaching literacy in terms of contribution to the theoretical-epistemological and employment of activities geared specifically to teaching the language as meaning, system of representation, in its notacional. The work is based on the principles of philosophical teaching-educator Paulo Freire, the epistemology of researcher Emilia Ferreiro. Uses the dialectic method of building knowledge, based on the phases of sincrese, analysis and synthesis. The research presented not only cares about the issues of reading and writing, but also serves to prepare the people for the exercise of their rights and obligations in the world of work and social relationships - policies. Jean Piaget, Kleiman, Magda Soares, Vygotsky and others have also been sources of research for the enrichment of this study.
