The objective of this work is to design and evaluate the uniformity of the water distribution applied through the sprinkler irrigation system in the Reservoier Basin, specifically in the Pitombeira City of Sumé, Paraíba, in order to analyze the Determination of the Coefficient of Uniformity of Christiansen (CUC); Determination of the Uniformity of Distribution Coefficient (CUD); Statistical coefficient of uniformity (CUE), and Efficiency of water application. The efficiency of irrigation will depend on the uniformity with which water is distributed in its emitters, so the uniformity of water distribution in an irrigation system is a very important issue. The experiment was conducted in an open cultivation system, under irrigation by sprinkler, located in the Pitombeira Site, the banks of the Reservoier Basin of Sumé, PB. The water used in the irrigation of the production area comes from an amazon well, with an average flow rate of 18 m3 h-1 located in the center of the cultivation area. The water sample was sent to the Laboratory of Irrigation and Salinity (LIS) of the Department of Agricultural Engineering / UFCG, where the chemical analysis was performed. The results indicate that the practice of sprinkler irrigation in the research area is performed with little technical accuracy, causing losses or excess in the application of water, using management techniques that enhance the efficiency of water application. This reduces water losses and improves the sustainability of the project.
