Abstract:
The afforestation of the streets is extremely important in urban centers, and it is necessary for its composition to plan adequately with the allocation of trees that will bring beauty, harmony and well-being to the community. The objective of this study was to survey and analyze the afforestation of some streets in the municipality of Sumé to contribute to the organization of a database and a descriptive memorial for urban planning. The research was carried out in the period from July to September 2016. The trees of some streets of the municipality were studied, distributed by micro areas. The identification of the trees was performed qualitatively and quantitatively, with observations and photographic records. In the inventory, 627 individuals were identified, distributed in 17 botanical families and 36 species. The species with the highest number of individuals were Azadirachta indica (62) and Ficus benjamina (87), followed by Peltofhorum dibium (24) and Terminalia catappa (24). It is worth noting the existence of native and exotic species in the afforestation of the studied streets, being that the exotic ones are found in greater quantity.
